Preview of the Mercedes-Benz EQ Concept
Over the last several years, Mercedes-Benz has been pushing the envelope in terms of fuel efficiency and performance, particularly with models like the Mercedes-Benz GLA. While there are already plenty of new Mercedes-Benz vehicles offering up modern convenience and fuel efficiency, Mercedes-Benz always has their sights set on the future. That’s where the Mercedes-Benz EQ Concept—an EV crossover concept—comes into play.
A Futuristic Exterior
When the Mercedes-Benz EC Concept approaches, there will be little doubt about what stands before you. It makes a striking impression with its “Black Panel” front grille design, illuminated three-pointed star, and LED optical fibre lines, which are blue when idling and red when on the move.
A “Forward-Looking” Cabin
The interior of the all-new Mercedes-Benz EQ concept is bordered in rose gold accents, and the unique seating setup puts its focus on maximum comfort and luxury. In terms of technology, this model displays an all-new new user interface which is even more user-friendly than outgoing generations. The cockpit is organized with the driver’s needs in mind, with a wide instrument panel that stretches toward the center stack and seems almost to float in place. The steering wheel gives you easy control over not only the audio and cruise control systems but also climate control and the entire infotainment system.
By the Numbers
While there’s no doubt by now that the Mercedes-Benz EQ Concept is destined to be an innovator when it comes to style, ergonomics, and convenience, what about the numbers? As an all-electric vehicle, or EV, the Mercedes-Benz EQ Concept crossover will be powered by a pair of electric motors, which get their power from a lithium-ion battery pack located in the floor. Total output comes in at a staggering 402 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, and Mercedes-Benz says that this concept has a total driving range of 500 km. As far as charging goes, there’s a long-term plan to house this model with a 300-kw charging port that could allow for 100 km of driving range inside of only five minutes.
Experience Fuel-Efficient Crossover
It doesn’t look like the Mercedes-Benz EQ Concept will be arriving for at least a couple years, but don’t despair, as there are currently plenty of high-tech and fuel-efficient Mercedes-Benz vehicles available for you to choose from, including the Mercedes-Benz GLA crossover.
